These elegant animals can measure up to 7 metres across. But contrary to some beliefs, they are completely harmless - true gentle giants! Giant Mantas are filter-feeders. When there is some current, they just fly around, majestically flapping their massive pectoral fins (their 'wings'), open their mouths, and feed on plankton.

Estos elegantes animales pueden medir casi 7 metros de envergadura, pero a pesar de la creencia popular, son totalmente inofensivos. Las mantas gigantes filtran su alimento: cuando hay corriente, nadan contra ella, usando sus aletas pectorales como alas, abren la boca, y aspiran el agua, filtrando el plankton.
