Black-Backed Jackal

Jackals live in the edge - surrounded by predators that are many times bigger and deadlier, they must be very opportunistic. Jackals can kill their own food (small prey like rodents), or scavenge.

They are also normally very cautious, but this little guy was for some reason very relaxed in our presence, and allowed us to get much closer than normal.
