Ocellated Lizard

The Ocellated Lizard (Timon lepidus) is a large lizard that is endemic to Spain and Portugal. The male presents in its sides a series of bright blue eyespots also known as "ocelli", from which the lizard takes its name. This individual in the image is a youngster, and has not yet developed the ocelli.

Lagarto Ocelado (Timon lepidus), endémico de España y Portugal. El amcho de esta especie presenta en los costados una serie de manchas de color azul brillante, llamadas "ocelos", de las que toma su nombre. El ejemplar de la imagen es joven y aún no ha desarrollado los ocelos.
