One of the most iconic wild animals in Europe, now thankfully staging a comeback. These pictures are taken in different regions of Finland, from hides. The animals are completely wild but are fed from time to time, so that it is relatively easy to have superb wildlife experiences if one spends enough days (and nights) in the hide. There is another way to watch and photograph bears: not only completely wild but also without any human intervention. The pictures are of course much farther away and less impacting, but I think it is overall a higher quality, more authentic wildlife experience. This is my current project, the first results of which are in "Wild Spain".
